Today on faculty classes from "Literature and film" in the Polish philology department we have watched an animation by Piotr Dumała on the basis of Dostoyevsky's novel "Crime & Punishment". I would like to share a piece of it because it made a great impression on me and I am very enchanted by Dumała's technique, which is engraving in heavy plaster plates.
"The world of his films is saturated with intensive poetic climate, subjected to the principles of light-and-shade effects, blown through and through by fear." culture.pl
His other major works are: Gentle spirit (1985), Nervous life of kosmos (1986), Walls (1987), The freedom of a leg (1988) and Franz Kafka (1991).
